Stephenson Delivers Syndet Base, Minus Equipment Headache
Mild, soap-free bars, coming right up; Stephenson introduced Syndopal (INCI: Not Available), a mild base noodle for syndet beauty bars. Contrary to traditional syndet bases, Syndopal processes similarly to vegetable bases to open doors for manufacturers previously unable to produce syndet bars.
Suitable for sensitive skin, the base has a 5.5-6.5 pH. It is reportedly nongrainy and adaptable, with excellent fragrance lift. Key ingredients include sodium cocoyl isethionate, hydrogenated vegetable oil, water (aqua), polyglyceryl-4 laurate and coconut acid.
Traditional syndet bases have low water and a brittle structure, which may require additional equipment for manufacturers of traditional soap noodles. Meanwhile, Syndopal can be produced as extruded noodles with no dust or cracking due to a hot emulsion manufacturing process, courtesy of Stephenson’s Durosoft technology.
Recommended applications span pharmacy, mass market and cosmetics, and include bar formulations of moisturizer, makeup remover, perfume, deodorant or baby care.
